About

Hello! My name is Jessica Oversier, I'm from a small village outside Rotterdam, in The Netherlands. My mum is English and my dad's Dutch so people are often confused where I'm from.

At fourteen I got scouted, then joined Elite when I just turned fifteen. That same year I became a pescetarian, which means your diet includes fish or other seafood, but not the flesh of other animals. I finished school in Holland and got my havo diploma (literally: "higher general continued education" this is a stream in the secondary educational system of the Netherlands, which allows you to access the hbo-level, (further educational studies) of tertiary education.

As soon as I got my diploma I moved to London for two years to do full-time modeling, which gave me the opportunity to see the world, hear all sorts of stories, meet the most amazing people and make friends for life, all over the world. This has been such an eyeopening experience and I feel very lucky to have been able to do all the things I've done with my family and friends right behind me, supporting every move I've made and still make.

One of my most favouite places I've travelled to is Sydney, Australia. In September 2013 I flew over, all by myself and yes, I did get emotional after a 24-hour plane journey, when I finally landed on the other side of the world having never being so far away from home. At 5:30am I arrived at my apartment, overlooking Bondi beach and there were people everywhere. People surfing, running, surprisingly loads of yummy-mummys running along with their buggies and fit men and women in their snazzy gym-gear. Never had I seen anything like it. I pretty much fell in love with Sydney from that moment onwards. All I wanted to do was get fit, eat healthily and work out.

Since then I've become even more interested in healthy food and living. My mum is an amazing cook, with an enormous passion for food, so I naturally became a foodie. As soon as I got back from Sydney, I bought my first juicer, which made me realise how much I enjoy learning about food and trying out new things.

This is what made me want to study for a degree in nutrition, which I'm currently doing. With my blog I now have the opportunity to share the food I've made, seen, tasted and also things I love which obviously will be health-related. Most of my recipes are inspired by things I have experienced. Sometimes my inspiration comes from articles and recipes I have read. I love trying out different healthy alternatives and sharing my favourite recipes.

Please feel free to keep up to date with me,

Jessica Oversier
